Amazingly delicious Donuts

This little gem came along in from my tire-less search for homemade donuts. My motto has always been try and cook everything at least once. If it doesnt work out, go with store bought. If it was ok, make it better. Heres my better. :) First off, Ill tell you my original, super easy recipe.
1tube refrigerator biscuits
1c powdered sugar
1tsp vanilla
milk
oil
flatten and hole out your biscuits, fry em up in hot oil, then let em drain on a cooling rack. Mix the powdered sugar and vanilla then add milk a tsp at a time til desired thickness. Dip your donuts and go to town!
Ive used this "recipe" forever. My mom taught it to me. Alas, I had no biscuits one day, and thought "I can make donuts!" The first time, I made a biscuit recipe from the better homes and gardens cook book, then proceeded as above. They werent bad. Tasted like old fashioned donuts. But of course I thought, "I can do better!" And this is what I found
3 1/2c flour
2pkg yeast
3/4c milk
3/4c sugar
1/4c butter
1/2tsp salt
2 eggs
mix milk, sugar, butter and salt on stovetop til its all melted (micro works to, just take it out every 20 seconds and stir) In a seperate bowl combine 1 3/4c flour and yeast. Add eggs to butter mixture then add wet mix to dry, and mix on low for 30 seconds. Beat on high for 2 minutes. Add remaining flour and knead 4-5min.  Let rise 1hr, roll and cut into donut shape. Rise again 45min, then fry in oil. Top with the powdered sugar mix above or whatever else you might like :)
